Types of  Chakras 

There are 7 chakras in total. One needs to become aware of them in order to detect deep-seated issues in the body and balance them before they come to the light.

  • Root chakra: Also called Muladhara, root chakra represents our foundation. It is located in the base of the spine, in the tailbone area, and provides us the perception of being close and connected to the energy of the earth. 
  • Sacral chakra: Sacral chakra informs men and women how they relate not only to their own emotions but also to others. Better known as Swadhisthana, it also helps them govern creativity and get in touch with their sexual desires. 
  • Solar plexus chakra: Solar plexus is the third chakra of the human body. It is related to gut feeling and speaks to your ability to be self-assured and saddled in your life. Located three inches below the navel, this chakra is related to the lymphatic system and is atone for expressing emotions.
  • Heart chakra: We bet you already guessed what this chakra is all about. Heart chakra influences the ability to give and take love not only from others but self. It acts as the bridge between the lower chakras and upper chakras of the human body. 
  • Throat chakra: Better known as Vishuddha, throat chakra proffers voice to the fourth chakra i.e. heart chakra, and manages your capability to communicate personal power. At its full capacity, it will help you express yourself truly and clearly. 
  • Third-eye chakra: The sixth chakra is called the third-eye chakra. It simply translates to beyond wisdom. Located between the eyebrows, third-eye chakra is known to be accountable for accumulating information about yourself and beyond materialistic life. It connects you to your intuition.
  • Crown chakra: As the name suggests, crown chakra sits at the crown of our head and represents our ability to be associated with ourselves spiritually. It is not possible to completely balance this chakra for a human.

Tips for Balancing Your Chakras 

The following are some useful tips for balancing your chakras: 

#1 Spend time in nature 

Katrina Mayer once said, “time spent amongst trees is never wasted time.” She is absolutely right. If you generally feel anxious, insecure, ungrounded, or fatigued, the issue may emerge from an unbalanced root chakra. Spending time in nature – walking barefoot in the garden, sitting in the grass, riding a bicycle in the forest – will make you feel more connected and let you borrow positive energy from mother nature. 

Can’t go outside of your home due to COVID-19 restrictions? No problem! Planting flowers at your home and nursing them can also help you balance root chakra, making a positive difference. 

#2 Practice visualization 

Ever thought of practicing creative visualization? If you haven’t, start doing it right now! Swaying your mind away from sad, negative thoughts is the first and foremost step to successful visualization. You can also visualize yourself having healing energy overflowing through your body and wandering through your spine. 

Once your mind is clear, you can also start visualizing images that represent happiness or love. You might start to feel certain body parts of yours are getting warm and you feel tingling or even pressure. These indicators depict that your negative energy is leaving and positive energy is streaming in.  

#3 Breath deeply 

Take a deep breath. Inhale peace. Exhale happiness. Not only do deep breaths allow your body to fully exchange incoming oxygen with outgoing carbon dioxide but they also are highly efficient in restoring and balancing chakras. 

In order to bring back your chakras to their ingrained and symphonic balance, direct the energy of your breath to your chakra whenever you inhale. Exhale and allow consciousness to descend into your chakra.

Color is the power that directly influences your soul. All of our energy centers have a specific frequency that reverberates with certain colors that convey a similar frequency. Let your intuition guide you in selecting colors you should be wearing on a specific day. 

For example, your intuition may guide you to wear red if you are not feeling secure or grounded. It could be your shirt, pants, or even inner wear. We know this might sound weird but filtering the color that you need to wear can help you reevaluate the balance of your chakras. 

#5 Do meditation regularly 

Doing meditation regularly is another way for beginners to balance their chakras. Yoga experts say that meditation helps bring the complete chakra system into parasympathetic balance. As time passes, you may be able to sense which chakras are concealed or out of balance.
